Monica Llaguno Zambrano
Head of Insights, Research and Learning – External RelationsMónica Llaguno leads Insights, Research, and Learning at Maternity Foundation, overseeing regional and local monitoring and evaluation, guiding research initiatives, analysing Safe Delivery App usage, and sharing best practices across implementation models.
She brings 10 years of experience in programme evaluation and research, with a career dedicated to advancing women’s and children’s rights. Before joining Maternity Foundation, she worked for Covenant House International, an organization committed to ending youth homelessness. She also contributed to global initiatives at the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, supported legislative efforts on sexual and reproductive rights for a former New York City Council member, and helped secure funding to expand a school feeding programme in Ethiopia for Wide Horizons for Children.
Mónica holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from The New School and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Augustana University, both earned through competitive scholarships. She is also a Fellow of the Hilton Humanitarian Prize Laureate Leadership Institute.
