Research and Learning (IRL) Internship
Join our international team as an Insights, Research and Learning Intern — shape data tools, analyse findings, and contribute to safer births for mothers and newborns.
Are you our next Insights, Research and Learning (IRL) Intern?
What We Offer
A meaningful internship where you’ll be part of an international work environment and a team passionate about improving maternal and newborn health. This internship offers valuable insights into how a global non-profit operates, with a specific focus on monitoring, evaluation, research and learning.
Throughout your internship, you will actively contribute to key IRL functions, and be considered a core IRL team member. With guidance and support from the Head IRL and team members, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your own tasks and projects and gain hands-on experience in core monitoring and evaluation work. You will be able to develop self-leadership and essential workplace skills. We recognise the unique perspectives and energy that our interns bring, and we are committed to providing a meaningful learning and working experience.
Your Role
You will work closely with the Head and the IRL team members, assisting with daily tasks while also engaging in longer-term activities. Your specific responsibilities will be identified through conversation and discussion after your engagement, aligning your areas of interest and skill sets with organisational and IRL needs and objectives. These may include:
· Designing data collection tools for routine monitoring and special evaluations
· Using digital data collection platforms
· Analysing data – quantitative or qualitative
· Contributing to report writing, presentations, or drafting of academic articles.
· Conducting ad-hoc desk research on IRL priority topics
Who are you
We are looking for a proactive person with a teamwork and ‘go-for-it’ attitude, who is willing to learn. You are required to be a Bachelor’s or Master’s student whose internship is integrated into their academic program. Ideally you have a background in Global Health or similar fields with a strong interest in research methods. As this is an unpaid position, applicants should be receiving financial support from a third party (e.g., SU/CSN/Erasmus Stipendium or another student funding source).
Practicalities
The internship is for the Q3-Q4 term of 2026 starting from 1st of September and min 3 month, up to 6 months. It can be pursued part time or full time. We offer flexibility, with standard working hours from 9:00 to 17:00. You will preferably be based in the Cph or Ethiopia Hub and have the option to work up to two days a week remote. You will have regular weekly check-ins with your supervisor to support your learning and professional development.
If you are eager to gain hands-on experience in a global non-profit setting and contribute to meaningful change, we encourage you to apply. Deadline 29th of April.
