Join our international team and gain hands-on experience in finance, HR and administration while supporting better maternal and newborn health worldwide.
Are you our next Finance, HR & Admin Intern?
What We Offer
A meaningful internship where you’ll be part of an international work environment and a team passionate about improving maternal and newborn health. This internship offers valuable insights into how a global non-profit operates, with a specific focus on Finance, Accounting, HR, and Administration.
Throughout your internship, you will actively contribute to key financial processes, including monthly accounting closing, bank reconciliations, payroll support, budget monitoring, and financial reporting, while also supporting selected HR and administrative activities.
With guidance and support, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your own tasks and projects, gain hands-on experience in project management and self-leadership, and develop essential workplace skills. We recognize the unique perspectives and energy our interns bring and are committed to providing a meaningful learning experience.
Your Role
You will work closely with the Head of Finance and Head of HR & Operations, supporting day-to-day financial operations, monthly accounting processes, and selected HR and administrative activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monthly Accounting Closing: Supporting month-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations and verification of accounting records.
Payroll Support: Assisting with the monthly payroll process using Danløn, including preparing and verifying payroll inputs, salary adjustments, payroll documentation, and reconciliation.
General Ledger Review: Assisting with the review of accounting entries, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accurate expense allocations.
Project and Donor Accounting: Supporting the verification and allocation of project expenditures and maintaining financial documentation in line with donor requirements.
Budget Monitoring: Assisting with budget versus actual expenditure analysis, identifying variances, and preparing financial follow-ups.
Monthly Financial Reporting: Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports, financial summaries, and management presentations.
Financial Controls and Documentation: Supporting monthly closing validation, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with audit preparations.
Accounts Payable and Staff Expenses: Assisting with invoice processing, staff reimbursements, travel expenses, and per diem calculations.
HR and Administrative Support: Contributing to selected HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day office administration.
Throughout the internship, you will gain hands-on experience with Uniconta, Danløn, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools, while developing a practical understanding of financial management and internal processes within an international non-profit organization.
Practicalities
The internship is for the Spring term 2027 starting from 1st of February and min. 3 months, up to 6 months. It can be pursued part time or full time. We offer flexibility, with standard working hours from 9:00 to 17:00 and the option to work remotely up to two days a week or upon agreement. You will have regular weekly check-ins with your supervisor to support your learning and professional development.
Who You Are
We are looking for a proactive person with a teamwork and ‘go-for-it’ attitude, who is willing to learn. You are required to be a Bachelor’s or Master’s student whose internship is integrated into their academic program. As this is an unpaid position, applicants should be receiving financial support from a third party (e.g., SU/CSN/Erasmus Stipendium or another student funding source).
If you are eager to gain hands-on experience in a global non-profit setting and contribute to meaningful change, we encourage you to apply. Deadline 1st of November.
